The Irken invader who plans on sowing DOOM on Earth!
Zim is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from Invader ZIM. He was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.
Moveset[]
Playstyle[]
Zim is a unique puppet trapper glass cannon character who excels in controlling the stage and pressuring opponents with GIR. If you use his tools right, Zim is devastating at racking up damage quickly and using his quick Strong Attacks (like Up Air Charge). He has a lot of downsides however, like his small size gives him very stubby attacks on certain moves like Down Air or Side Tilt, as well as being lightweight, and on top of that, having poor recovery, with or without GIR. Zim is overall a complicated character to play, needing to know when to deploy GIR and when to rush down onto the opponent.
Light Attacks[]
- Germ Exterminator (Neutral Grounded): Puts on his Microgoggles and sprays disinfectant on his filthy, germ-ridden opponents. The finisher has him swinging his hands to slap the opponent. DAMAGE: 3 (Hit 1), 1 (Rapid), 5 (Finisher) (3 frame startup)
- PAK Attack (Side Grounded): Kicks forward with his stubby leg. Low range, but can press the button again to headbutt. DAMAGE: 6 (Both Hits) (6 frame startup)
- Plunger of DOOM (Up Grounded): Takes out a plunger and swings it upward. DAMAGE: 10 ( 7 frame start up)
- Plasma Swirl (Down Grounded): Uses his PAK to shoot plasma upward in a field. DAMAGE: 9 (8 frame start up)
- Electric Circuit (Neutral Aerial): Uses two conductive rods to create a field of electricity around himself. Hits multiple times.
- Megabonk (Forward Aerial): Swings a plunger forward. DAMAGE: 7
- Garden Gnome Carnage (Back Aerial): Swings a Lawn Gnome backward. DAMAGE: 14
- Spike Trap (Up Aerial): Clings all his spider claws upward. The second hit spikes. DAMAGE: 8 (Both Hits)
- Doom Kick (Down Aerial): Kicks downward with his stubby leg. Poor range. DAMAGE: 8 (Sweet), 7 (Sour) (9 frame startup)
Strong Attacks[]
- The Shocker (Side Grounded): Uses two conductive rods to create a field of electricity in front of himself. Hits multiple times and is very powerful.(9 frame startup)
- Doom Laser (Up Grounded): Shoots a gigantic laser diagonally upward. Infinite range but tricky to land. DAMAGE: 18 (13 frame stat up)
- Guardian Gnome (Down Grounded): Places one of his robotic lawn gnomes on the stage, which slides forward a short distance before firing three lasers. The gnome slides further the longer the move is charged. DAMAGE: 14 (Base), 2 (per Laser) (5 frame startup)
- Laser Nova (Side Aerial): Zim uses the legs of his PAK to create a field of energy in front of him. DAMAGE: 18 (Sweet), 10 (Sour) (3 frame startup)
- Planet Eraser (Up Aerial): Throws a bomb over his shoulder, exploding on contact with an opponent or the ground. Charging strangely does not increase power. DAMAGE: 14
- Smitting Smityness (Down Aerial): Minimoose sends a bolt of electricity downward. the longer you charge, the longer he stays, having a hitbox surrounding himself. DAMAGE: 12
Special Attacks[]
- Pew Pew! (Neutral): Shoots two lasers from the legs of his PAK, which travels downward diagonally. If GIR is deployed, he will fire his own laser horizontally. The lasers deal a slight amount of knockback. DAMAGE: 8 (Close), 4 (Far), 4 (GIR) (12 frame startup)
- Slime Version: Shoots a single larger laser, travelling at a shallower angle.
- GIR! (Side): Sends out his most loyal and defective minion, GIR, who can be controlled alongside Zim. This move alone rockets him forward, which can be held indefinitely. DAMAGE: 10 (16 frame startup)
- Slime Version: GIR is deployed with more health. (15, to be exact.)
- Rocket/Hover (Up): Zim's up special had two variants. His normal up special has him ride on GIR which is able to fly in any direction, and the other version is a simple hop with his jet pack whenever GIR is already summoned with side special or if GIR is inactive. Overall a weak recovery. DAMAGE: 13 (GIR), None (No GIR)
- Slime Version: Travels further.
- ExpSlowsion (Down): Charges up and throws an explosion which is extremely powerful once fully charged. DAMAGE: 9-23 (25 frame startup)
- Slime Version: Charges halfway before throwing.
Throws[]
- Forward Throw: Throws a bomb at the opponent. DAMAGE: 10
- Back Throw: Throws the opponent backward. DAMAGE: 15
- Up Throw: Throws the opponent upward. DAMAGE: 9
- Down Throw: Repeatedly stabs the opponent with his spider legs. DAMAGE: 12
Other[]
- Impending DOOM (Dash Attack): Dashes forward before screaming "DOOM!" upward. Hits twice. DAMAGE: 2 (Hit 1), 12 (Hit 2)
- Super Attack: Zim unleashes Minimoose, who harnesses the dark energy of space to blow up the Earth. DAMAGE: 40
- Gir Light Attack: Punches forward.
- Gir Strong Attack: Spins in place.
- Gir Grab: Eats opponents before exploding.
