Zim is the main character of Invader ZIM. He is a playable character in both Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl games.
Biography[]
Zim hails from the great Irken Empire, an alien race bent on dominating the entire galaxy. Zim is considered an outcast among his peers, not only due to his eccentric personality (being extremely megalomaniacal and overzealous) and his short height (since the Irkens’ social hierarchy depends on height), but also because he caused the failure of their first invasion attempt: Operation Impending Doom I. Zim was subsequently banished to the planet Foodcourtia for life, though he didn’t understand that this was a punishment. Growing bored of this planet, he “unbanished” himself to attend the Great Assigning; an event where Irkens are assigned as Invaders. His leaders, the Almighty Tallest, assigned him a “secret mission” on an insignificant planet in the middle of nowhere just to get rid of him: a dirt ball called Earth. He was issued a malfunctioning, scatterbrained robot companion named GIR and sent on his way. In order to conquer Earth, Zim disguises himself as a human and “attends” Skool to remain undetected, which works on mostly everyone - all except Dib Membrane; a 12-year old paranormal investigator who is irrationally determined to expose Zim, much to the mockery of his peers.
In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl[]
Zim is one of the base game fighters, having been announced in the game’s reveal trailer released on July 13th, 2021. He is a zoner who possesses a multitude of projectiles and disjoints (via his PAK legs, which he is constantly standing and moving around with) to trap his opponents right where he wants them, though he deals very little damage to compensate. GIR, who acts as his mid special, is a large part of his gameplan; being a projectile that he has a good amount of control over, which allows him to control space effectively.
His alternate costume is his human disguise, which he uses throughout his series to blend in with the humans. GIR’s blue eyes and highlights also change to red when using this costume; referencing his “Duty Mode”.
Zim’s home stage is Irken Armada Invasion. It’s a basic stage with three platforms and no gimmicks, which takes place in outer space in the middle on an Irken invasion. This stage is considered tournament legal, and is often chosen as a counterpick.
In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2[]
Zim returns in the sequel; having seemingly been mostly unchanged from the first game. Like the other fighters, Zim received a visual overhaul, with his mouth now being textured to make him more expressive and his eyes now properly displaying the eye shine seen in the original series.
