Squidward is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from SpongeBob SquarePants. He was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.
Moveset[]
Playstyle[]
Squidward is a bruiser install character that focuses on dealing big damage with his bizarre hitboxes and being powered up via his Rage. He has a variety of multi-hit tools with overall solid range to really keep the opponent on their toes. Where Squidward struggles is that he's somewhat slippery and difficult to play with his double jump cancels, as well as being generally large, making him easier to combo.
Light Attacks[]
- 4/4 Time (Neutral Grounded): Swings his baton forward four times before finishing in a pose.
- Tentacle Kick (Side Grounded): A forwards kick. DAMAGE: 12
- Forget the Book! (Up Grounded): Squidward swipes his tentacle in an upwards arc. Has some invincibility. DAMAGE: 3 (Hit 1), 13 (Hit 2)
- Knee Slap (Down Grounded): Squidward slaps his knee while laughing. Can spike opponents. DAMAGE: 1 (Hit 1), 10 (Hit 2)
- Octopus Dance (Neutral Aerial): Squidward extends his tentacles all around himself. DAMAGE: 8 (Sweet), 6 (Late)
- Paintbrush Fury (Forward Aerial): Squidward swipes forward with a paint brush multiple times before finishing off with a triumphant pose. DAMAGE:
- Head Bop (Back Aerial): Squidward claps his tentacles together while leaning backwards. DAMAGE: 12
- Corkscrew Dance (Up Aerial): Squidward wraps his tentacles around each other while extending them upwards.
- Down Slap (Down Aerial): Squidward extends his arms downwards and his legs behind himself; making in upside-down "L" shape. Can spike opponents. DAMAGE: 9 (Sweet), 8 (Sour)
Strong Attacks[]
- This One's On The House! (Side Grounded): Squidward shoves a pizza box forwards. DAMAGE: 15
- KRAKATOA! (Up Grounded): Squidward wears the Captain Magma helmet and shoots magma (or lava) upwards from it. DAMAGE: 2 (Hit 1), 14 (Hit 2)
- Squidward Live (Down Grounded): Squidward extends his wobbling tentacles on either side of him. DAMAGE: 3 (Hits 1-3), 8 (Hit 4)
- Sforzando (Side Aerial): Plays the clarinet. Mostly horizontal hitbox.
- WOOHOO FREEDOM! (Up Aerial): Squidward flies up while blowing air with the Reef Blower.
- Artistic Tantrum (Down Aerial): Squidward slams a marble pillar downwards.
Special Attacks[]
- Clary (Neutral): Squidward plays a note on his clarinet as a projectile. The longer you charge it, the faster and more powerful the projectile. DAMAGE: 4 (Level 1), 6 (Level 2), 10 (Level 3)
- Slime Version: Plays a much faster, more powerful note. DAMAGE: 8 (Both Hits)
- Artistic Genius (Side): Squidward creates one of three paintings at random that he shoves forward. Each painting has different effects. DAMAGE: 18 (Sea Bear), 24 (Gothic), 30 (Bold and Brash)
- Slime Version: Heavily increases odds of rolling a stronger painting.
- Whatever (Up): Rides on his bike, which promptly explodes and sends him tumbling in the air. DAMAGE: 3 (Hit 1), 1 (Hits 2-3), 2 (Hit 4), 12 (Hit 5)
- Slime Version: Goes higher.
- You're Annoying Me (Down): Squidward gets angry; increasing his speed and damage output for a short time. Can be charged for even more speed and power, though it leaves him vulnerable to attacks. The exact damage multiplier is 1.75x. DAMAGE: None
- Slime Version: The charged rage comes out much faster and lasts longer.

- Grab: Squidward reaches forwards with his front tentacles.
- Pummel: Angrily shakes his opponent up and down.
- Forward Throw: Slams a door on the opponent. DAMAGE: 8
- Back Throw: Kicks the opponent backward. DAMAGE: 10
- Up Throw: Tosses the opponent upwards. DAMAGE: 10
- Down Throw: Slams the opponent on the ground. DAMAGE: 8

- Spin Dash (Dash Attack): Spins while dashing forward.
- Super Attack: Handsome Squidward: Squidward gets hit by a shoe, becoming even more handsome and elegantly dashes forward while hitting the opponents caught by the activation hitbox, before slamming into a wooden pole and going back to normal. DAMAGE: 40

- Intro Animation: Squidward's soothing bath is rudely interrupted by the ensuing battle. He hops out of the tub and assumes his idle.
- Idle: Squidward stands whilst wearing his best "I really don't want to be here right now" face. Occasionally he will impatiently put his hands on his hips.
- Idle Animation 1: Squidward grabs his clarinet and plays a few warmup notes.
- Idle Animation 2: Squidward laughs to himself.
- Taunt 1: Squidward lays in a fetal position and does a few sit ups (as if he is trying to wake from a horrible nightmare), repeatedly yelling "Futuuuure!"
- Taunt 2: Squidward sits on his chair and glares at the opponent.
- Taunt 3: Squidward gets in the Krusty Krab's order station boat and repeatedly slams his head on the cash register.
- Win 1: Does a dance before freezing in a pose in the air. Occasionally he will look around (as if he's confused on how he's freeze framing like this), but will start smiling again.
- Win 2: Sits on his chair and gets his well-deserved Rest and Relaxation.
- Team Win: Squidward nonchalantly pumps a fist in the air, once again not getting the attention the deserves.
- Lose: Moves around in a wheel chair completely covered in bandages.
- Jukebox: Squidward does a dance that has him wobble his tentacles on either side of him.
