SpongeBob SquarePants is the eponymous main character of the show of the same name. He is a playable character in both Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl games.
Biography[]
SpongeBob is an anthropomorphic sea sponge who lives in Bikini Bottom. He's energetic, always positive, childlike, and greatly enjoys having fun of all kinds. He lives in a pineapple house with his pet snail Gary, right next to his two neighbors Patrick and Squidward. He works at the Krusty Krab as a fry cook; a job he loves more than anything in the world. Some of his hobbies include jelly fishing, karate with Sandy, playing around with his best buddy Patrick and attending Boating School in order to get his coveted boating license. He can be somewhat naïve at times due to his good-hearted nature, which is often abused by malicious characters such as Plankton; the closest thing to an arch enemy SpongeBob has. He is very quickly forgiving, however, and rarely hold grudges against anyone - he just wants to see others be as happy as he always is, no matter how much they threaten him. But when trouble arises, he's not afraid to take action for the greater good, and is surprisingly capable of dispatching dangerous foes.
SpongeBob is the far most recognizable character in the Nickelodeon brand, serving as the mascot of the channel.
In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl[]
Spongebob was the ninth character revealed for the first game. He is a well rounded fighter who serves as an easy choice for newcomers to learn the game.
His second costume is the #1 Soda Drinking Hat from “One Krabs’ Trash.”
His home stage is Jellyfish Fields, a medium base with a horizontally traveling platform. This stage is considered tournament legal.
In Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2[]
Spongebob returns with an updated model and moveset, containing even more references to his original series. His down strong from the previous game, “Imaginaaation,” has been reassigned to his up strong. His new down strong is a repurposed version of his former light dash attack.
With the addition of super moves, Spongebob’s has him take the wheel during a boating lesson with Mrs. Puff. Enemies trapped in the move are run over as Spongebob swerves down the road.
Spongebob receives multiple new costumes in this game, including his Mermaid Man outfit and his Krusty Krab uniform. His drinking hat returns from the last game. In addition, Spongebob’s Quickster outfit is a bonus item for purchasing the digital only Ultimate Edition.
