Slime Time is a stage in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, originating from the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare. It was revealed during Shredder’s reveal trailer on February 3rd, 2022, and released alongside him on the same day for free as the game's second DLC stage.
Description[]
Slime Time is a medium-sized stage with 3 platforms. The two platforms on either side of the stage are triangular and solid, whereas the top platform and the main platform are semi-solid platforms. The bottom of the stage is covered in slime, which causes fighters within it to slowly sink to the blastzone. It can be escaped by repeatedly jumping, however. When a KO occurs, a crowd can be heard cheering and the screens on either side of the stage’s background display “K.O.” on them.
Origin[]
Double Dare was a game show held by Nickelodeon in 1986 to 1993, with two modern revivals in 2000 and 2018-2019 respectively. It consists of “Physical Challenges”; a variety unusual physical activities, followed by trivia questions and obstacle courses. Two teams compete against each other to win the trivia questions and get cash prizes, with the winner of the Physical Challenge getting to answer them first. The team in control of the question can also Dare the opposing team to answer it for double its value, which the opposing team can counter with a Double Dare that quadruples its value. Should a team fail to answer a question or complete a Physical Challenge after being Dared or Double Dared, the opposing team wins the appropriate amount of money. A staple of the show (as well as Nickelodeon game shows in general) is getting slimed (some kind of vicious green liquid getting poured on the contestants), which is often part of the various Physical Challenges.
Four physical challenges from Double Dare can be seen in the background; Pick it, the One Ton Human Hamster Wheel, Overstuffed, and the Hot Dog. The latter first appeared in the 2018 iteration of Double Dare, while the others made their debut in the 1986 iteration.
