One-half of Shredder's dimwitted duo.
Rocksteady is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He was revealed to be the third of the Season Pass DLC characters on October 31st, 2023, and was released on July 3rd, 2024.
Moveset[]
Playstyle[]
Rocksteady is a large sized zoner character. He boasts a large variety of projectiles at unique angles, hard-hitting normals and unique mobility options. Despite being one of the slowest characters in the game, he is also very heavy, allowing him to live much longer. His recovery is also good, being able to use both Side and Up special, allowing him to recover almost all of the time. However, his weaknesses come into play with his large size, which makes him combo food and much easier to hit. As well as this, a lot of his moves are slow, allowing faster characters like El Tigre to close the gap easier.
Light Attacks[]
- Headbutt (Neutral Grounded): Does a ramming headbutt. DAMAGE: 7
- Rhino Punch (Side Grounded): Does a forwards punch. DAMAGE: 10
- Bang Bang Bang!(Up Grounded): Shoots a blast from his gun upward, which spreads into three projectiles in a fan shape. Endlag is increased when firing a second shot. The projectiles have a ton of reach, making them a fantastic anti-air. DAMAGE: 4 (per shot)
- Go Away! (Down Grounded): Slashes his machete downward in front of him. DAMAGE: 7
- Rhino Lariat (Neutral Aerial): Swings his arms around him for an aerial lariat attack. Long-lasting hitbox. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 8 (Sour)
- Hammer Bash (Forward Aerial): Swings both his arms downward. Can spike. DAMAGE: 15 (Sweet), 13 (Sour)
- Rhino Boot (Back Aerial): Does a backwards kick. DAMAGE: 10 (Sweet), 8 (Sour)
- Horn Header (Up Aerial): Swings his head upward. using his horn to slash opponents. Strong aerial KO option. DAMAGE: 9
- Heavy Stomp (Down Aerial): Stomps downward. A faster spike attack with slightly less power than Forward Air. DAMAGE: 14 (Sweet), 11 (Sour)
Strong Attacks[]
- Oil Barrel Slam-Toss (Side Grounded): Slams a barrel to the ground, having it bounce along the stage. The move can fall off ledges to edgeguard. You can use Neutral Special to blow up the barrel, which launches opponents toward Rocksteady for an easy conversion. As well as this, you can also aim the barrel in different directions by holding front or back, with back having it go much higher, and front giving it more horizontal reach with less bouncing from the barrel. DAMAGE: 18 (Arms), 14 (Barrel), 10 (Barrel Explosion)
- Sledgehammer Strike (Up Grounded): Swings his hammer upward. More powerful at the upper-half of the move. DAMAGE: 17 (Sweet), 14 (Sour)
- Elbow Drop (Down Grounded): Does a elbow drop. Can fall off ledges and spike opponents, at the cost of Rocksteady self-destructing without the use of slime cancelling. DAMAGE: 16 (Spike), 14 (Ground)
- Sledgehammer Swing (Side Aerial): Swings his hammer forward. Stronger at the tip. DAMAGE: 16 (Sweet), 9 (Sour)
- Dimension X Bazooka Shot (Up Aerial): Shoots a laser blast diagonally upward. Very good vertical KO tool as it has very little startup. DAMAGE: 13
- Dimension X Bazooka Blast (Down Aerial): Shoots a short-range blast downward. If it connects with an opponent, they will be launched upward, and Rocksteady will fly upward a significant distance. DAMAGE: 13
Special Attacks[]
- Laser Gun (Neutral): Shoots a blast from his laser gun. The shots deal no knockback, but are rapid-fire and allow Rocksteady to rack up damage. If the laser hits an oil drum, it instantly explodes, knocking opponents in Rocksteady's direction. DAMAGE: 2
- Slime Version: Fires one larger, more powerful blast. DAMAGE: 16
- Charge Tackle (Side): Rocksteady charges forward with a shoulder bash, going a good horizontal distance. The attack launches opponents upward. DAMAGE: 11
- Slime Version: Has more knockback and gives Rocksteady a large amount of super armor. DAMAGE: 15
- Krang's Propulsion Device (Up): Flies upward with rockets. Can be cancelled into anything. DAMAGE: None
- Slime Version: Has more control, and drops bombs. DAMAGE: 2 (per bomb)
- Get Blasted! (Down): Lays down four grenades, which explode when being attacked by Rocksteady, and knocked away when hit by opponents. Good for platform pressure, though the bombs can also hurt Rocksteady. DAMAGE: 8
- Slime Version: The bombs are larger and do not hurt Rocksteady, and explode upon contact with an opponent. DAMAGE: 8 (per bomb)

- Pummel: He headbutts the oppenent with his horn.

Trivia[]
- Rocksteady was at one point planned to be a playable character in the original Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl instead of Shredder, as evidenced by early placeholder files found in the game's data.
- Rocksteady's internal codename is "headbanger", referencing a rhinoceros attacking with their horns, as well as Rocksteady and his partner-in-crime Bebop being named after musical genres.
- In Rocksteady's official spotlight video, it is mistakenly claimed that he would be released on June 24th, 2024; while he was instead released on July 3rd, there was a separate patch released in preparation on June 26th.
- When granted to defeat Clockwork, Plankton, Garfield, Korra, Donatello, April, Gerald, Nigel, Jenny, Ren & Stimpy, Zuko, and Rocksteady are the only fighters to use the same quote when battling player in mind-control.
