The best of friends. Happy Happy, Joy Joy!

Ren & Stimpy are a playable duo character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from The Ren & Stimpy Show. They were announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.

Moveset[]

Playstyle[]

Ren and Stimpy together are a defensive zoner who specializes in controlling the stage. Making use of their high air mobility, slow projectile, and solid range. On the contrary, the rest of their movement stats are poor, having the worst jump height in the game. As well as that, they are heavy opponents, making them easy to combo, and tend to be very predictable with their moves.

Light Attacks[]

  • Keep it Together! (Neutral Grounded): Ren slaps Stimpy. Repeated button presses makes Ren strangle Stimpy and shake him back and forth. When the button is released, Ren furiously slams Stimpy into the ground.
  • Schniff (Side Grounded): Stimpy sniffs a lot of air in front of him, while Ren suffers with Stimpy’s fart at the back. DAMAGE: 8 (Sniff), 10 (Fart)
  • Hello There! (Up Grounded): Waves upwards on both sides. Stimpy’s wave is a happy greeting while Ren’s is an angry fist shake. DAMAGE: 8
  • Flick (Down Grounded): Stimpy points, while Ren bites on the other side. DAMAGE: 11 (Sweet, Stimpy), 8 (Stimpy Sour), 10 (Ren)
  • Best of Friends (Neutral Aerial): Ren grabs onto Stimpy as they both twirl their legs. DAMAGE: 11 (Stimpy), 10 (Ren)
  • Ren’s Bite (Forward Aerial): Stimpy swings Ren forward as Ren does a chomp. DAMAGE: 10 (Sweet), 7 (Sour)
  • Cat Swing (Back Aerial): Ren swings Stimpy behind him. DAMAGE: 14
  • Lick ‘N Stomp (Up Aerial): Stimpy licks upward, while Ren stomps downward.
  • Spinning Stimpy (Down Aerial): Ren spins Stimpy around downward. DAMAGE: 1 (Hits 1-3), 5 (Hit 4)

Strong Attacks[]

  • Watch Out! (Side Grounded): Ren & Stimpy’s eyes come out of their sockets and push foes away on both sides. DAMAGE: 16
  • Fore! (Up Grounded): Stimpy swings Ren upward like a golf club. DAMAGE: 18
  • Tornado (Down Grounded): Ren spins Stimpy in a circle. DAMAGE: 12
  • Ren-Shot! (Neutral Aerial): Stimpy swings Ren in a circle. DAMAGE: 16
  • Tantrum (Up Aerial): Ren repeatedly punches and bites upward. Hits multiple times.
  • Dive Bomber Doofus (Down Aerial): Stimpy crashes downward with his buttocks.

Special Attacks[]

  • Log (Neutral): A bouncing projectile. The move bounces off opponents on contact. If angled upward, it launches higher into the air. If angled downward, it has more horizontal reach. No angling is a balance between up and down. DAMAGE: 6
    • Slime Version: The log can no longer be angled, but becomes significantly larger and more powerful.
  • Beep Beep (Side, with car): Ren & Stimpy hop in a wiener car. Useful for recovery and as an attack. DAMAGE: 5 (In Car),
  • Finger Poke (Side, without car): When the car is gone or it’s far away, Ren & Stimpy instead slide forward as Ren points his finger forward to spike opponents.
    • Slime Version (Beep Beep): Larger hitbox.
    • Slime Version (Finger Poke): Slide is faster and Ren’s finger deals more damage.
  • History Eraser (Up): Stimpy presses the big red button, which causes an explosion that sends them flying upward. Charging this move increases height. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet)
    • Slime Version: Instant max charge.
  • First Fart (Down): Ren hides behind Stimpy as he performs a counter move that absorbs opponents’ attacks. Once the meter is full (as shown on the HUD), press the Down Special twice to have Stimpy let out a hellacious fart cloud, which is extremely powerful.
    • Slime Version: While the fart itself can't be slime enhanced, the counter can, providing Ren & Stimpy with far more fart power.

Throws[]

  • Grab: Stimpy grabs the opponent while Ren shakes his fist at them.
  • Pummel: Ren kicks the opponent.
  • Forward Throw: Ren & Stimpy slam the opponent on the floor.
  • Back Throw: Ren kicks an opponent behind him, while Stimpy smells a flower.
  • Up Throw: Ren and Stimpy launch the opponent upwards with a launchpad, saluting them off for an exciting mission into deep space.
  • Down Throw: Stimpy rolls along on the floor, with Ren balancing on him.

Other[]

  • Belly Clap (Dash Attack): Stimpy dashes forward for a belly bump. A second press of the button will make ten clap the opponent with his large hands.
  • Super Attack: As president of Stimpy's fan club, Ren gets into a heated debate over the phone, which leads to him pushing the big red button that annihilates the Earth, all whilst he laughs maniacally.

References[]

  • The move "Log" is a reference to the recurring ads in the show for Log, a fake toy that is a parody of pet rocks and Mr. Potato Head.
  • The move "History Eraser" is a reference to the Season 1 episode "Space Madness". In the episode, the History Eraser Button destroys all of existence when pressed.
  • The move "Beep Beep" has Ren & Stimpy use the car from the Season 4 episode "Wiener Barons".
  • The move "First Fart" is a reference to the Season 2 episode "Son of Stimpy" in which Stimpy farts for the first time in his life.
  • Their super is based on the iconic scene from the Season 2 episode"Stimpy's Fan Club", where Ren fantasizes as the president of said fan club and blows up a section of the Earth.
    • Both of Ren's facial expressions reference some episodes: the calm smirk comes from the farewell segment at the end of the Season 1 episode "Nurse Stimpy", whilst the insane deranged smile comes from the Season 2 episode "In the Army" (complete with the same backgrounds). The latter would also be used as their first taunt while the former is used in the 2nd taunt.
  • Ren’s face when Stimpy uses the History Eraser and their Strong up grounded attack comes from the Season 1 episode “Nurse Stimpy”.
  • Stimpy's magic nose goblin seen in their first idle animation, which appears in the Season 1 episode "Nurse Stimpy", and the Season 2 episodes "Sven Hoëk" and "Son of Stimpy".
  • The way Stimpy rolls on the floor in their Down Throw is a reference to the same one first seen in the Season 1 episode "Stimpy's Big Day".
  • The flower Stimpy sniffs in their Back Throw is a reference to a moment in the Season 5 episode “Terminal Stimpy”, in which Stimpy is picking petals off of a similar flower in a meadow, whist saying “I’m not dying, I’m not going to die.” during the 2nd of the Five Stages To Acceptance: Denial.
  • Ren’s face when the duo is stunned after their shield breaks resembles the face he made when he flips out at Stimpy for being annoying in the Season 4 episode “Hermit Ren”.
