A smashing nature narrator with an appetite for adventure!

Nigel Thornberry is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from The Wild Thornberrys. He was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.

Moveset[]

Playstyle[]

Nigel is an aerial-focused brawler, with powerful hits in the air and bizarre movement options, as well as his five jumps and unexpected KO options like his Down Special. However, his very light weight and his lack of projectiles make him a glass cannon, allowing him to be KO'd extremely early.

Light Attacks[]

  • Astonishing! (Neutral Grounded): A simple swinging hook punch. DAMAGE: 7
  • What's over there? (Side Grounded): Swings his binoculars forward. Has a pretty good-sized hitbox. DAMAGE: 8
  • Fly Clap (Up Grounded): Claps upward trying to catch a mosquito. Rather slow and lacking range. DAMAGE: 7
  • Scorpion Sting (Down Grounded): Kicks his leg downward like a scorpion tail. Opponents hit by his foot will get the poison status, gradually damaging them over time. DAMAGE: 8 (Sour), 10 (Sweet), 20 (Poison)
  • Flying Squirrel Slam (Neutral Aerial): Does a belly pose, very similarly to Patrick. It is very quick and great for combos or confirms. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 9 (Late)
  • Woodpecker Rage (Forward Aerial): Pecks forward three times with his nose like a woodpecker. A good confirm into Smashing! DAMAGE: 2 (Hits 1-2), 4 (Hit 3)
  • Frog Back Kick (Back Aerial): Swings his legs backward. This moves him horizontally slightly and reverses him once using it. This is very powerful as well, making it one of his best aerial tools. DAMAGE: 13
  • Elephant Trunk (Up Aerial): Slaps upward, with a splash of water accompanying the attack. Can be used as a niche juggle tool. DAMAGE: 9
  • Wolf Claw (Down Aerial): Slashes with two hands downward. Can spike, and both claws have separate hitboxes. The spike is notably hard to land, and the sourspot will land more often than not. DAMAGE: 9 (Sweet), 7 (Sour)

Strong Attacks[]

  • Kangaroo One Two (Side Grounded): Dons boxing gloves and punches two times forward. Extremely powerful but significantly lacking in range. DAMAGE: 6 (Hit 1), 12 (Hit 2)
  • Tea time! (Up Grounded): Swings a tea cup upward. A pretty standard uppercut attack. DAMAGE: 15
  • Ostrich Bury (Down Grounded): Buries his head downward. Doesn't have great reach, but can spike opponents on ledges. DAMAGE: 12
  • Snake Bite (Side Aerial): Swings his hand forward. Opponents hit by his hand will get the poison status, gradually damaging them over time. DAMAGE: 10 (Initial), 20 (Poison)
  • Giraffe Neck (Up Aerial): Swings his head upward in both directions. This also stalls his falling speed. DAMAGE: 14
  • Falcon Dive (Down Aerial): A diving attack that acts as a great movement option. He dives in a downward curve, but the attack progressively gets weaker. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 9 (Late)

Special Attacks[]

  • Bull Stampede (Neutral): Nigel dashes with his fingers up like bull horns. This move can be charged for increased speed and power. It scoops opponents upward and launches them upward, slightly behind Nigel. It can also be used as a recovery tool, though it is slow to start. DAMAGE: 12-26
    • Slime Version: Comes out at full charge instantly.
  • Gorilla Double Punch (Side): A lunging punch forward. Pressing the special button again makes Nigel do an uppercut. This move can be cancelled into any attack. DAMAGE: 7 (Hit 1), 8 (Hit 2)
    • Slime Version: Larger range.
  • Whale Crash (Up): Flies upward before crashing down like a whale. This move can spike and is overall very powerful, but doesn't travel very far. As of Patch 1.4, the move can now strike opponents in the air, retaining it's spiking property. DAMAGE: 7
    • Slime Version: Falls faster with slightly more power. DAMAGE: 8
  • Smashing! (Down): Snaps with his fingers before laughing. The snap is extremely powerful but has very small range, and has a huge amount of endlag with Nigel's laughter. The endlag can be instantly cancelled if the move connects. DAMAGE: 20
    • Slime Version: Much larger hitbox and makes Nigel invincible, but less damage and knockback. DAMAGE: 16

Throws[]

  • Forward Throw: Punches the opponent away. DAMAGE: 11
  • Back Throw: Kicks the opponent backward. One of the most damaging throws in the game. DAMAGE: 18
  • Up Throw: Claps his hands upward with flame silhouettes. DAMAGE: 11
  • Down Throw: Slams his body on the opponent. DAMAGE: 12

Other[]

  • Crocodile Wrangling (Dash Attack): Nigel rides on a crocodile. DAMAGE: 14
  • Super Attack: Nigel observes an elephant through his binoculars as it falls from the sky, before landing and crushing the opponent. DAMAGE: 40
