SpongeBob is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, originating from the show of the same name. He was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 13th, 2021.

Light Attacks[]
- Horizontal Punch (Mid Grounded): A quick forward punch. DAMAGE: 5
- Up Kick (Up Grounded): An upwards kick. DAMAGE: 8
- Floor Sweep (Down Grounded): SpongeBob sweeps the floor in front of him with a dustpan and broom. Holding the button continues the attack indefinitely. DAMAGE: 8
- Side Kick (Mid Aerial): A split kick that hits both sides. DAMAGE: 8
- Up Kick (Up Aerial): Same as the Grounded version. DAMAGE: 8
- Down Swing (Down Aerial): A downward punch. DAMAGE: 8
- Spin Attack (Dash): SpongeBob spins rapidly while dashing forward. DAMAGE: 8
Strong Attacks[]
- Jellyfish Swing (Mid Grounded): Swings his jellyfish net forward. DAMAGE: 14
- Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut (Up Grounded): An uppercut with a red karate glove. DAMAGE: 13
- Imaginaaation Clap (Down Grounded): Claps his hands above his head and creates a damaging rainbow. DAMAGE: 15
- Aerial Jellyfish Swing (Mid Aerial): Same as the Grounded version. DAMAGE: 14
- Aerial Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut (Up Aerial): Same as the Grounded version. DAMAGE: 13
- Imaginaaation Kick (Down Aerial): A downward kick with a rainbow trail, which can spike. DAMAGE: 15
- Running Slip (Dash): SpongeBob slips forward and falls on his back. DAMAGE: 13
Special Attacks[]
- Bubble Blow (Mid): Blows a slow moving bubble projectile. The move’s endlag increases with each consecutive use. DAMAGE: 8
- Order Up (Up): Flies upward with his hydrodynamic spatula, hitting opponents multiple times. DAMAGE: 5 per hit
- Chomp (Down): Bites forward. The move can be charged to increase its range. When performed in the air, it’s angled downwards. DAMAGE: 5-26%
Animations[]
- Entrance: Hans places SpongeBob on the stage, who then cheers.
- Taunt: SpongeBob inexplicably morphs into a bird-like shape in a mocking fashion.
- Idle: Sways his arms back and forth, sometimes looking around the stage.
- Idle animation: Flicks his nose.
- Victory animation: Tiptoes in place before spinning and posing. He then does a little looping dance.
- Lose animation: Sits and cries.
- Team victory animation: SpongeBob dances back and forth while moving his arms in a wave.

- The move "Floor Sweep" is a reference to SpongeBob sweeping the stage floor in the Season 1 episode "Culture Shock"; a simple, mundane action that garnered him a large amount of applause from the audience.
- The moves "Jellyfish Swing" and "Aerial Jellyfish Swing" reference SpongeBob's love of jellyfishing.
- The move "Imaginaaation Clap", and by extension the move "Imaginaaation Kick", is a reference to the Season 3 episode "Idiot Box", in which SpongeBob tells Squidward that anything can be done with imagination.
- The move "Running Slip" is a reference to a meme of SpongeBob slipping on ice with a strange expression from the Season 5 episode "Krabs à la Mode".
- The move "Order Up" features the hydrodynamic spatula with port and starboard attachments and turbo drive from the series pilot, "Help Wanted".
- The move "Chomp" is a reference to SpongeBob biting Patrick's finger with a bizarre exaggerated expression in the Season 2 episode "I'm With Stupid".
- His entrance features the appearance of Hans, a realistic hand that makes several appearances in SpongeBob Squarepants. Him placing SpongeBob on the stage could be a specific reference to his role in the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Windows, and Xbox game "SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom".
- His idle is reminiscent of his idle stance in Battle for Bikini Bottom.
- His taunt is a reference to a meme of SpongeBob imitating a bird from the Season 9 episode “Little Yellow Book”.
- The dance SpongeBob does in his victory animation is from the Season 2 episode “Band Geeks”.
- His losing animation references his tendency to cry profusely, mostly in later seasons of the show.
- His team victory animation references the dance he (and later Squilliam) does in the Season 7 episode “I ♥ Dancing”.
- His alternate costume is a reference to the Season 3 episode “One Krabs Trash”, in which Mr. Krabs sells a soda drinking hat to SpongeBob, but then tries to get it back after finding out how valuable it is.
- One of SpongeBob’s voice clips when picking up Squidward’s Clarinet is him singing loudly, just like he did when acting as a clarinet in the Season 1 episode "Sleepy Time".
