April O'Neil is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.

Moveset[]

Playstyle[]

Similarly to the first game, April is a glass cannon rushdown who charges up her Ratings meter to unleash an explosive attack with high knockback. Her strengths are her ability to outrange her opponent, quick burst moves like Neutral Air to escape precarious situations, as well as fluid combos with her Up Air. However, April is a taller character, making her easier to combo than others, and her Up Special lacks a hitbox, making it extremely exploitable offstage if April doesn't cancel it into an aerial or Down Special.

Light Attacks[]

  • Microphone Combo (Neutral Grounded): A knee into a punch, followed by a rapid jab where April rapidly spins her mic in a circle. The finisher has April extend the mic forward energetically. DAMAGE: 3 (Hit 1), 4 (Hit 2), 1 (Rapid), 4 (Finisher)
  • Lunging Kick (Side Grounded): A forwards kick. DAMAGE: 9
  • Stretching Kick (Up Grounded): An upwards kick. DAMAGE: 8
  • Close-Up Kick (Down Grounded): A leg sweep. Pressing the button twice has April quickly flash her camera afterwards. DAMAGE: 8 (Leg), 3 (Camera)
  • Aerial Kick (Neutral Aerial): A lingering kick. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 10 (Late), 9 (Very Late)
  • Take Notes (Forward Aerial): Slashes forward with a pencil and notepad. DAMAGE: 12
  • Double Kick (Back Aerial): Two backwards kicks. DAMAGE: 5 (Hit 1), 8 (Hit 2)
  • Mic Twirl (Up Aerial): Spins upward with the mic cord. Hits multiple times. DAMAGE: 1 (Hits 1-6), 4 (Hit 7)
  • Heel Kick (Down Aerial): A leg clap. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 9 (Sour)

Strong Attacks[]

  • Overhead Recording (Side Grounded): Thrusts a mic stand forwards. The tip of the mic is stronger than the base. DAMAGE: 16 (Sweet), 11 (Sour)
  • Question (Up Grounded): Strikes an energetic pose. Hits twice. DAMAGE: 1 (Hit 1), 16 (Hit 2)
  • Stylish Camera (Down Grounded): Flashes a camera three times. Two forward, and one backward. DAMAGE: 7 (Front 1), 5 (Back), 10 (Front 2)
  • Wild Recording (Side Aerial): Thrusts a mic stand at a diagonal downward angle. DAMAGE: 13 (Sweet), 10 (Sour)
  • Mic Gain (Up Aerial): Similar to light up air, but it only hits once and has a star effect. DAMAGE: 16 (Sweet), 14 (Sour)
  • Sports Photography (Down Aerial): Flashes a camera three times in a downwards arc. DAMAGE: 3 (Hits 1-2), 6 (Hit 3)

Special Attacks[]

  • Interview (Neutral): Thrusts a mic forward. By attacking opponents with mic or camera attacks, you fill up a Ratings Meter (as shown on the HUD), upgrading the move from practically useless to an extremely powerful K.O. option, at the cost of all ratings built up. Whiffing still empties your ratings. DAMAGE: 5 (None-1 Bar), 10 (2 Bars), 15 (3 Bars)
    • Slime Version: After using the move, you refill one bar of ratings.
  • On The Air! (Side): Places down a large camera that damages opponents with no knockback. Attacking the camera sends it rolling, which can be used as an attack to knock opponents away and build up ratings at the same time. DAMAGE: 10 (Camera), 1 (Film)
    • Slime Version: The camera automatically moves forward and damages opponents.
  • Breaking News Blimp (Up): April rides on a small blimp; letting her float around freely in any direction for a short time. The more you use the move, the shorter the move lasts. Touching the ground refuels the blimp, but ledges will not refuel. DAMAGE: None
    • Slime Version: Travels farther.
  • Paparazzi Somersault (Down): Does a flip while flashing a camera multiple times. Hits multiple times. You can control how far you travel with the move.
    • Slime Version: More momentum and larger hitboxes.

Throws[]

  • Forward Throw: Kicks the opponent forward. DAMAGE: 9
  • Back Throw: Kicks the opponent backward. DAMAGE: 11
  • Up Throw: April tosses the opponent upwards. DAMAGE: 8
  • Down Throw: Snaps the camera at the opponent three times. DAMAGE: 10

Other[]

  • Close Up! (Dash Attack): Dashes forward while filming on a camera. DAMAGE: 8
  • Super Attack: Blasts the opponent caught in the activation hitbox with a huge energy ball being orbited by a ring with “BREAKING NEWS” written on it.
