Aang (NASB 2)

The last Airbender and the Avatar, charged with keeping balance in the Four Nations.

Aang is a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, originating from Avatar: The Last Airbender; part of the Avatar series. He was announced in the reveal trailer released on July 27th, 2023.

Playstyle[]

Aang is a very versatile and mobile all-rounder, boasting great hitboxes, combos, and recovery with his three jumps. Aang has some of the best juggling tools in the game with his Up Charge and Up Air, an extremely good recovery, great movement as his speed is good, and brutal killpower with his Neutral Charge attacks being powerful yet generally quick. All these combined make Aang one of the best characters in the game. His weakness tends to be his light weight, as if he is attacked, he can die earlier than most of the cast.

Light Attacks[]

Circle Pivot (Neutral Grounded): Does a 3-hit combo with air attacks.
Wind High Hick (Side Grounded): Swings his leg upward with a gust of wind. DAMAGE: 7 (Kick and Projectile)
Crescent Wind Slash (Up Grounded): Does a chop upward with a gust of wind.
Air Sweep (Down Grounded): Does a sweeping kick with a gust of wind. DAMAGE: 5
Water Current (Neutral Aerial): Creates a flowing circle of water around himself.
Air Dive Kick (Forward Aerial): Does a spinning drill kick surrounded by air. DAMAGE: 12 (Sweet), 8 (Sour)
Wind Thrust Kick (Back Aerial): Swings his leg backward with a gust of wind.
Swiping Wind Kick (Up Aerial): Swings his leg upward with a gust of wind.
Air Sphere Bounce (Down Aerial): Creates an air ball downward. Delays his falling speed. DAMAGE: 10

Charge Attacks[]

Firebend Arc (Side Grounded): Throws a fireball downward. DAMAGE: 19 (Sweet), 14 (Sour)
Staff Spin (Up Grounded): Swings his staff in a circle upward, creating a powerful gust of wind.
Earth Stumps (Down Grounded): Stomps on the ground, which surrounds himself with rocks. DAMAGE: 16
Blazing Fire Kick (Side Aerial): Does a roundhouse kick with fire. DAMAGE: 19 (Sweet), 14 (Sour)
Water Orb (Up Aerial): Surrounds himself with a sphere of water. A rather unorthodox Air Up Strong, similar to Ember's.
Ground Plummet (Down Aerial): Swings his staff before diving down. Spikes opponents, and surrounds himself with green crystals upon landing. DAMAGE: 11 (Staff), 12 (Rocks)

Special Attacks[]

Ice Shards (Neutral): Shoots an ice projectile forward. If Aang is airborne while using the attack, the projectile will be aimed diagonally downward. The longer you charge the attack, the more range and power it gets. You can store your charge by shielding. DAMAGE: 2-8
- Slime Version: Fires instantly with more ice shards, but cannot be stored. DAMAGE: 4-14
Fire Spin (Side): Surrounds himself with fire. The move has a hitbox on both sides of Aang for a close-ranged attack. Hitting opponents with this attack gradually damaging them over time and dealing large total damage. DAMAGE: 6 (Initial), 20 (Burn)
- Slime Version: Larger hitbox and higher damage.
Air Glide (Up): Flies upward with his Air Glider. Pressing the attack button has him crash downward. The dive cannot spike, but it launches horizontally as a sneak attack. DAMAGE: 12 (Up Sweet), 8 (Up Sour), 10 (Dive)
- Slime Version: Goes higher.
Air Ball (Down): Rides on his air scooter. A great speedy movement option. The move can be jump-cancelled, making it very safe on shield and overall making it a great combo starter. DAMAGE: 8
- Slime Version: N/A

Throws[]

Forward Throw: Tosses the opponent forward.
Back Throw:
Up Throw: Tosses the opponent upward with wind. DAMAGE: 6
Down Throw: Stomps on the ground, creating a pillar of stone. Powerful KO throw. DAMAGE: 14

Other[]

Air Tackle (Dash Attack): Aang dashes forward with his air bending. DAMAGE: 8
Ultimate Attack: Aang summons his Avatar State, surrounds himself with his elemental sphere and takes one hit at said opponent. DAMAGE: 40

Role in Campaign[]

Aang was among the many fighters to fall under the control of Vlad Plasmius.

In the campaign, Aang can potentially be the 2nd fighter unlocked after Patrick, alongside April O'Neil, and Jenny.

The move "Air Glider" references the gliding function of his Airbender staff used throughout The Last Airbender.
The move "Air Scooter" references one of Aang's signature abilities; the Air Scooter.
His taunt references the Book One: Water episode "The Warriors of Kyoshi", in which Aang performs a marble trick with an exaggerated expression on his face, to the equally exaggerated fascination of his onlookers.
Aang's side special has him attacking with a blast of fire, referencing when he accidentally burned Katara's hands in "The Deserter" from Book One: Water.
Aang's super is a reference to his second attempt of defeating Ozai in "Sozin's Comet" from Book Three: Fire, which was using his Avatar State to strike his opponent.
Aang's forward air is the same one he used in the Book Two: Earth episode "Avatar Day".
Aang's down grounded is the same one he used in the Book Three: Fire episode "The Ember Island Players".
Aang's strong down air has him used crystals from "The Crossroads of Destiny" in Book Two: Earth.
If Aang meets the cabbage merchant in the Campaign mode, he will react in horror, and say that he's aware that something terrible happens to him whenever Aang is nearby. This is a nod to the graphic novels, where he's also aware of this.
